A Witch

by Makai Kim

Witch! Witch! Witch! The children cry,

Dancing in circles, hand in hand.

Witch! Witch! Witch! Let us see you fly!

Hey, look, a witch!

Hey, look, a witch!

Screech for us in your witchly pitch!

Leave me alone!

Leave me alone!

The children surround me with their stones!

Witch! Witch! Witch! The children cry,

Dancing in circles, stones in hand.

Witch! Witch! Witch! For your evil, you must die!

Stone the witch!

Stone the witch!

She’ll screech for us in her witchly pitch!

I cannot fly!

I’m not a witch!

You lie! You lie! You lie!

Witch! Witch! Witch! The children cry,

It is you who lie!

Witch! Witch! Witch! For your lie, you must die!

The witch is dead!

The witch is dead!

We’ve stoned her on the head!

We’ve killed the witch! The children rejoice.

And never again shall she fly;

And never again shall we hear her witchly voice.

Witch! Witch! Witch! The children cry,

Leaping for joy, laughing loudly.

Witch! Witch! Witch! The children let her lie.
